You don't have to be a plumber to properly install the Epic Smart Shield. We designed it to be a simple DIY (Do-It-Yourself) install that will fit alongside your garbage disposal and household items stored below the sink.
Light Use (usually 1 person): change filter every 14-16 months
Normal Use (usually a couple): change filter every 12 months
Heavy Use (larger family and/or use for pets/cooking/plants): every 9-12 months
*Note: Areas with high sediment levels (NYC metro area, Texas, Northern & Central California, and people who have well water or in an older home with old pipes), we recommend using our 5 micron Epic Smart Shield Sediment Filter (click here). This will prolong the life of your Smart Shield filter and is a good idea even if you do not live in these areas.
The dimensions of the Epic Smart Shield are 19 3/4" Tall x 4.5" Deep x 4 1/4" Wide. Remember, the Epic Smart Shield now comes with heavy duty Velcro tape so you no longer have to drill holes, this allows more people with tight spaces under their sink to install the Epic Smart Shield.
For this kit, directions from the Tomlinson Faucet say the hole should be a minimum of 7/8" and no larger than 1 1/8" diameter hole.

My parents and sister purchased very expensive whole house filters, but I didn't think it was necessary to shower or flush filtered water. The only water we drink comes from the kitchen sink and this setup is ideal for us.
Installation was a breeze - it took more time to gather my tools and make room for me under the sink than the actual installation!!!
The results are immediate and VERY noticable. I have been using the pitcher filters from another company for years and they were ok...for taste, but for the safety of removing all the nasty stuff, they were not cutting it. This system ensures that every drop we drink is as clear as technology can achieve at this moment in time. Our water is high in PFAS, chloramine, etc. There were a lot of factories last century that have been closed longer than I've been on earth, but their forever chemicals are still messing with our water. With our Epic filter, I know that my family is as well protected as possible.
Thanks to the Epic folks for shipping quickly, making it easy to install - all at a very reasonable cost. I also like the ability to hold on to old filters and send them back for proper recycling and get a deal out of it too!!! What a great company!

This is my first time using a water filter. The installation was easy to complete within 10 minutes adn I love that it lasts a year and has a responsible sustainable lifecycle. There is a noticeable difference in the water taste as well as removal of the odor that we had previously. I believe that this is also improving the clarity of my skin for the filter attached to my bathroom sink where I wash my face.
